Why We Built This Site
Indiana permits substantial public access to court information, yet custody and access are not the same thing. The Posey clerk keeps the chronological case summary and court file. Circuit and Superior Courts set hearings and enter rulings. MyCase provides statewide public lookup for many cases. Bringing the verified contacts, search fields, and request methods together makes those separate roles easier to follow.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guidance: ways to read and search criminal court dockets and civil court dockets in Posey County
- Court dates and settings: how to read the court calendar and confirm a hearing date or setting
- Case lookups: how to run a case search by party name or case number through the statewide portal
- Record requests: how court records and certified copies are requested from the clerk of court
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, unaffiliated with the Posey courts, their clerk, or any Indiana agency. Its limits include the following:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or setting listed on this site is current right now
Only the clerk of court or the trial court that heard the case can issue an official or certified copy of a docket sheet or court record. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
Search Partners
Outside providers operate search boxes found on some content pages. They control their services, results, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports this free resource. Posey County Court Docket does not determine a partner's charges or returned information.
